The natural gas changeover entails an upgrade from natural gas group “L” to the higher-energy group “H” because the extraction of L gas will decline sharply in the years to come. In order to supply you with H gas instead of L gas in the future, we need to upgrade our network and adjust your gas heating (as well as other natural gas appliances, where necessary) in our capacity as your regional network operator. Following written notification of an appointment, you will be visited by a fitter:
Recording date: We will record all of the data on the natural gas devices connected in your home and carry out a measurement of exhaust gas emissions. Using this data, we will then assess the adaptability of your device and order material for the upgrade.
Upgrade appointment: Approx. one year later, we will upgrade your natural gas devices where necessary. This will involve exchanging the L gas nozzles and readjusting the burner.
You do not need to do anything before receiving notification of your appointment. Please support us. This is about your warm home and your safety!
Also important:
- Please have your heating serviced regularly by a registered installation company. This will help to promote a smooth changeover in your home.
- Without being asked to, the fitter will quote your customer number when he rings your doorbell. Please do not quote your number beforehand. You can find this number in our letter to you.
- All fitters deployed by EWE NETZ wear blue service uniforms and carry a company identity card. You are more than welcome to ask to see this identity card.
- Our gas fitters will never demand money from customers for work completed on site. And EWE NETZ does not send any invoices for natural gas changeovers – neither for our service visits nor for materials.
